As President Global Creative Product Growth & Strategy for dentsu, Phil is focused on reinventing and optimizing the model of how marketing agencies could and should work to better serve clients in the digital and experience age. Phil is responsible for integrating capabilities across 14 creative agency brands in the Americas into one, cohesive, end-to-end creative solution that is fit for purpose to take on the challenges that today’s CMOs and CEOs face.
A strategist by trade, Phil has 22 years of industry experience, 12 with dentsumcgarrybowen, previously serving as Chief Strategy Officer for the company’s New York office. He has created award winning strategies for some of the world’s biggest brands including Verizon, Burger King, Budweiser, Apple, Chevron, AT&T, Corona, Under Armor, Crayola, JP Morgan Chase and American Express. During his tenure, mcgarrybowen has been named Advertising Agency of the Year in the US on 3 occasions.
Prior to dentsuMB, Phil worked at both Cramer Krasselt and DDB, as well as digital start-ups.
Born and raised in Ireland, Phil attended the University of Limerick where he earned a business degree. He does some of his best work on a barstool, sharing a pint and a point of view towards solving some of the world’s problems. He lives in upstate New York, with his wife and rescue dogs Pike and Teddy.
