Our Women and Leadership programme is designed to equip women from across the business with the tools, skills, confidence and support network to progress into senior leadership roles underpinning our ambition to have 40% women in leadership positions, globally, by 2020. In our regular series, ‘Five minutes with’, we catch up with some of this year’s cohort to hear about their experiences on the programme.
Why did you apply for the programme?
I am hoping this programme will allow me to develop an enhanced sense of responsibility for the skills needed to make improvements. So that each year the organisations quality is significantly better than the previous year and I am a part of that. If I can strengthen my skills in management this will allow me to improve performance with the right mindset and tools to lead a team through various organisational changes.
What do you hope to achieve from being on the programme?
I am a passionate individual who enjoys my job so taking this course would add so much more fulfilment towards a meaningful career.
I would also like the programme to provide me with a real scope for successful leadership, to become an effective leader and successful coach. Hoping that this will allow me release further potential towards my organisation and inspire my team and colleagues to have a positive attitude which could be a key driver to being successful in the organisation.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt so far?
The programme has been great so far. I have learned that it is important to trust yourself and have developed an increased level of confidence. It’s great to see and hear other women’s experiences and facing different challenges and how we learn from them and adapt with them.
