Brett Colliver
I Am Almost Always Hungry.
That may sound like the title of a vegan cookbook, but it’s actually a book about graphic design that Brett stumbled upon while studying in Perth, Australia.
And it’s the book that started his career.
Within it, he found two lines from the founder of studio Cahan & Associates, who said “I’m not interested in something that just looks good, it has to have an idea behind it.”
It was at that moment, halfway through his graphic design degree that Brett realized he liked the aesthetic nature of design… but he loved the power of conceptual ideas. So, he turned his focus to a place that has the best of both worlds: Advertising.
Since then, he’s worked on a wide mix of clients that range from beer to banking across New Zealand, Australia, and the US.
His work has seen he and his clients awarded at the highest levels, including a Black Pencil at D&AD, a Titanium and Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions, and the Grand Effie and Sustained Effectiveness award at the New Zealand Effies.
And yes, he’s still rather hungry.
