Electricity distribution businesses transforming consumer marketing appoint BWM Dentsu Group
As part of a shift in consumer engagement in the electricity industry, major Victorian distribution networks, CitiPower and Powercor have partnered with BWM Dentsu Group to consolidate all marketing and communication activity.
The networks will integrate all internal and external marketing communications and media planning through BWM Dentsu as part of a strategy to increase awareness of the role of distribution businesses within the electricity supply chain, and their value proposition for customers.
The new partnership with BWM Dentsu Group will enable CitiPower and Powercor to tap into the full spectrum of Dentsu Aegis Network’s fully integrated offering, including business performance, data driven marketing, corporate communications, public relations and media production.
Joanne Pafumi, General Manager Corporate Affairs for CitiPower and Powercor Australia said: “The growth of solar photovoltaic as well as the anticipated increase in batteries and electric vehicles are just some of the many choices our customers now have about how they use electricity.
“They need to know that the network that distributes their electricity is able to accommodate these choices and does it safely, reliably and affordably. We’re excited to work alongside BWM Dentsu Group to engage more directly with our customers.”
Belinda Murray, Managing Director, BWM Dentsu Melbourne, said: “Energy prices and reliable supply are hot topics amongst consumers, so we are very supportive of CitiPower and Powercor’s exciting new marketing direction.
“We believe there is an opportunity to provide energy customers with a holistic and immersive brand experience.”
CitiPower and Powercor distribute electricity to 1.1 million residential and commercial customers across 60 per cent of Victoria with greater than 99.9% reliability.
