dentsu China appoints Sheldon Xu as Chief Operating Officer

dentsu China has appointed Sheldon Xu as Chief Operating Officer, effective on December 13, 2021. Sheldon will report to Deric Wong, CEO, dentsu China. 

This essential new role focuses on the effective execution of the new business strategy and transformation programme critical to delivering more integrated clients solutions and long-term sustainable business success. 

Sheldon has more than 20 years of experience in China and other international markets. He was the COO of MetLife China, where he developed a digital strategy to enhance efficiency, deliver a differentiated customer experience, and supporting business growth. Previously, Sheldon was the Managing Director of Publicis Touchpoint Solutions China, where he was responsible for the company's P/L, strategy and execution. Prior to that, Sheldon was the Vice President of Operations and Strategic Planning of AIG China. He also held several roles at AIG Global in New York, starting as a Management Consultant and moving up to be the director of Corporate Operations and Systems. Sheldon also worked in the US as a Management Consultant at PWC, focusing on strategy, operations, and process enhancement.

Sheldon will be responsible for the implementation of dentsu’s new market-leading business model - driving business efficiency by strengthening agency brands, delivering integrated solutions to solve clients’ changing challenges and further building operational excellence. This role is critical to further integrate dentsu’s business processes and tools across Media, CXM, Creative and functions, allowing teams to deliver growth for clients at the speed and efficiency that the marketplace in China demands.
