Yuko Kitakaze
Global Chief Sustainability Officer, dentsu
Yuko is Chief Sustainability Officer, dentsu Japan, and a member of Group Management at dentsu. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the 2030 Sustainability Strategy, a group-wide collaboration, towards GOAL, which aims to make dentsu "a leader in sustainable society". She is also Non-executive Director of Dentsu Solari Inc., DE&I Committee Chair of Japan Advertising Agencies Association, Forbes JAPAN Web official columnist and Pink Ribbon Advisor.
Her ambition is to create a flat and open society where it is easy for everyone to work.
She launched the "Bye-Bye Bias Training Series" to recognize Unconscious Bias in the workplace, and organizes LAVENDER CAFE, a place for peer support for cancer survivors.
Yuko joined Dentsu Inc. in 1992 after graduating from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Letters with a specialization in Social Psychology. She founded Dentsu Inc.'s first laboratory, “Mama Lab” in 2008. Since then, she has been involved in the development and implementation of various plans as a strategic planner for client companies' marketing and new businesses.
After working as the Managing Director of the Creative Planning Division, she became Executive Officer and the first Chief Diversity Officer of Dentsu Japan Network in 2022. She has been in her current position since 2023.
