LONDON – Dentsu Aegis Network, headquartered in London, today announced the appointment of Anna Moulton as Global HR Director replacing Valerie Scoular who will be retiring from the business at the end of 2018. The business has also announced the promotion of Philipp Kurtenbach to HR Director of EMEA, succeeding Moulton’s existing position.
Reporting directly to Jerry Buhlmann, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network, Anna will become a member of the Executive Team and take up her role on 1 October 2017. Anna Moulton will be responsible for the Group HR function and its important remit to support the business through talent, culture, operating model and capability a position that was held by Valerie Scoular for nearly twelve years. Valerie will continue to support the business as a key senior executive on specific executive matters including reward and member of the Dentsu Aegis Network Board and Compensation Committee, until her retirement at the end of 2018.
Jerry Buhlmann, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network, said:
“As my HR Business Partner for nearly a decade, Valerie has made a huge contribution to the Group which has been demonstrated by the threefold increase in our workforce over the last four years and specifically in relation to the vision, values, culture and talent needs of our company. Valerie has also ensured strong succession planning, which has allowed me to today announcethe appointment of Anna Moulton as our new global HR Director, who has a successful track record of delivering HR and organisational change in her existing role as HR Director, EMEA. The HR function has been, and will continue to be, an essential part of our growth strategy and vision and Anna has already demonstrated her ability to lead HR teams to ensure that we have the right culture, capability and talent to achieve our ambition of becoming a 100% digital economy business by 2020.”
Moulton brings over 20 years’ experience in business consulting and senior HR roles at leading global brands, including Accenture, Reckitt Benckiser and Mattel.
Anna Moulton, Group HR Director (effective 1 October 2017), said:
“I am delighted to be succeeding Valerie as Global HR Director, and joining the Executive Team at such a transformational time for Dentsu Aegis. The Network is at the forefront of the industry in its shift to people-based marketing with an unwavering commitment to its digital ambition and vision to ‘innovate the way brands are built’. With this in mind, the right talent, values and culture have never been more important for the work we deliver for our clients.”
Valerie Scoular, Global HR Director (current) said:
“I am immensely proud of what has been achieved across the Network, particularly in relation to our culture and talent agenda, which is key to the organisations transformational plans. Both Anna and Philipp share my passion that the HR profession is critical to the successful growth and transformation of Dentsu Aegis and Anna has played a key role in the re-shaping of our HR function. I am particularly pleased we have been able to affect this successful transition through our own internal talent development. Anna has a rich track record of successful HR delivery throughout her career and I am fully confident that Anna will drive the HR agenda forward with success to support Dentsu Aegis’ digital ambitions for 2020. Philipp has played a key role in shaping the global talent agenda and his market, brand and global HR experience make him a great fit for the EMEA HR role working with Giulio Malegori.”
The Executive Team is designed with growth, transformation and strategic innovation at its heart which has led to a number of recent strategic hires and acquisitions that have seen the company outperform its peer group for the sixth consecutive year in 2016. The leadership team was further strengthened with Giulio Malegori’s appointment as CEO of the EMEA region in early 2017 followed by recent appointments of Dominic Shine as Global Chief Technology Officer, Nick Brien as CEO Americas & US and Nigel Morris as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer. Anna Moulton joins the Executive team as Global HR Director at an exciting time as the group continues to leverage the talent base and emerging tech capabilities across its global network to ensure competitive advantage and continued market leadership.
