Dentsu Aegis invests in data driven excellence appointing Ravin Chan as VP for Data & Technology
Today, Dentsu Aegis Network China announces that Ravin Chan has been appointed as VP for Data & Technology. Reporting into Terrence Yung, COO, in this new role, Chan will lead the development of the Data & Product business model and the Dentsu Programmatic offering across the media group for Dentsu Aegis China.
With over 18 years’ experience across China and APAC, Ravin is a versatile industry leader, working with clients such as IKEA, Unilever, IHG, L’Oréal, Yili, Mars, Shell, Royal Caribbean and Mitsukoshi, etc..
Chan joins from Alibaba where he was Senior Product Expert / Senior Big Data Solution Architect and responsible for corporate digital transformation, data product portfolio development and commercialization strategy formation, helping numerous corporates to better utilize and manage data, and maximize the values to business via granular consumer management, etc..
Prior to joining Alibaba, Chan has a track of outstanding achievement. He was a key leader in GroupM from 2008 where he implemented solutions across APAC markets and developed media data warehousing and analytical solutions in China. As Head of Technology & Data, Chan led an integrated team of engineers and product experts to land, localize and productize the global data platforms in China. His experience from Xaxis and PBU includes consumer data onboarding, profiling and activation to empower data-driven marketing business.

Eric Weng, Chief Product Officer will leave next month as he takes on a senior new role in the mar-tech industry. In his role as Deputy Chair of the MMA, he has been instrumental in driving higher standards for Measurement & Ad standards in China working with partners like Tencent to develop anti-fraud solutions.
