Dentsu Aegis Network China expands media line of business leadership growing solutions and strategy offering

Dentsu Aegis Network China today announces an expanded leadership team for the media line of business under Tony Chen, CEO. The changes recognise the industry’s growing need for integrated solutions and reflects the network’s continued commitment to drive client-centric services at group level.

Jimmy Kuo becomes Chief Client Officer, in addition to his role as CEO for Vizuem China. In this newly created role, Kuo will take the lead on working collaboratively across the network to deliver world-class, integrated and price-competitive services to our clients with a remit to develop future growth opportunities. A proven business leader, Kuo has been with Dentsu Aegis Network since 2013 with a focus on international and key China clients. His strategic approach has seen the transformation of investment models, delivering diversified and integrated services for many key accounts.

Richard Frampton takes leadership for Strategy and Solutions offering and rejoins the China business from the Dentsu Aegis APAC hub in Singapore where he led strategic development across the region in his role as VP, Client Solutions. He was previously Convergence Planning Director for Carat China for four years.  Richard has extensive experience and in this new role he will lead the articulation, design, development and delivery of the strategy for Media line of business, focused on core product development and solutions. 

In Beijing, Scarlett Du takes leadership for the strategy product.  Du is an industry veteran with a BA in Advertising from Peking University. She takes on the group role after re-joining dentsu X in 2019. Previously she was Head of Strategy for Wavemaker Beijing working across key clients in automotive and FMCG, previous roles include Senior Strategy Director for Blue Focus and Head of Insights for Carat China, where she spearheaded the development of Carat’s research product offering as well as working across key accounts.

Leo Xu will take up the role as the integrated client lead for Mengniu. With over 20 years working experience in advertising and communication, Leo has extensive experience in integrated planning and buying across large Chinese and multinational clients including Coca-Cola, COFCO, Master Kong, Unilever, UPS,  Microsoft,  Intel, Tencent. In his new role, Leo will continue to lead the team to drive integrated and strategic media solutions and to ensure the maximum marketing and business value for client. Gary Pan, Managing Director, Carat China will leave the business next month as he moves onto a new opportunity in a client side role.

Tony Chen, CEO, Media Line of Business commented: “These appointments are all part of our vision and transition plan this year. In addition to core media planning and strategy expertise, critical performance capabilities such as feeds optimization, modern search, social commerce and live streaming will be delivered by expert consultative teams, efficiently organized to be shared and leveraged across the broader business.” Chen added; “I’d like to thank Gary for his passion and hard work over the past four years, he’s been an incredible leader for the team and we wish him every success in his new position”.
